The troika representatives are visiting a number of Ministers today in order to come to an agreement, in time for the Eurogroup session on Monday, when a decision is expected for the collection of the next loan instalment.

The ECB, EU and IMF heads visited the Ministry of Finances this morning where they met with the Minister of Finances Yannis Stournaras, Labor Yannis Vroutsis and Growth Kostis Hatzidakis, as well as their deputies. Based on the latest updates, it appears that the two sides are unable to come to an agreement due to fundamental differences on the implementation of the OECD’s set of proposals.

With Mr. Stournaras expected in Brussels on Friday, where he preside over the Ecofin in the discussion regarding the banking union, it seems unlikely that an agreement with the troika can be achieved by Monday’s Eurogroup. As such, it appears likely that an emergency Eurogroup session will take place after the 10th of March, without discounting the chance of a deadline extension to April.
