In an television interview on Mega Channel, the Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis announced that as of the 20thof March, a five-euro fee will be imposed on each visit to a PEDY clinic.
Mr. Georgiadis defended the measure claiming that by imposing this five-euro fee, the Ministry will be able to cover the medical treatment of uninsured patients.
Coalition government partner PASOK issued a statement criticizing the measure and arguing that the Ministry took a “sudden and rushed” decision.
