A number of human rights groups, bodies and activists are holding a demonstration outside the hospital of the Korydallos prison against the inhuman living conditions.
Meanwhile 34 SYRIZA MPs have formally requested from the Ministers of Justice and Health to take initiatives to address the hygiene and staff problems at the overcrowded prison hospital.
Prisoners currently being treated at the prison hospital have created a twitter account revealing the inhuman living conditions. The prisoners are fearful of tuberculosis and mite outbreaks.
In one post, the prisoners claims that the prosecutor who went to inspect the hospital refused to approach the patients by stating that “he has a family”.
