Farmers from all areas in the north of Greece are demonstrating outside the Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace in Thessaloniki since noon, over the coalition government’s taxation policy in the agricultural sector.

Representatives of the demonstrating farmers have requested to meet with the Minister of Macedonia-Thrace Theodoros Karaoglou and are expected to issue a protest resolution with their demands.

Meanwhile, farmers from Serres decided at their Wednesday evening meeting to carry out a walk protest at 3.30pm on Monday in Promachonas. They farmers are supported by local federations and unions of craftsmen, retailers, taxi drivers, business owners and other productive sectors.
