With the farmer unions and the government unable to come to an agreement over the taxation and cost of production disputes, the farmers in northern Greece continue to mobilize and have arranged to march up to the Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace.

The farmers at the Kouloura road block in Imathia have arranged to meet with MPs from all parties that were elected in the greater area, in order to discuss the possibilities of overturning a “wrong policy that is about to be implemented”, according to farmer representative Kostas Lioliopoulos.

In Pella, the farmers are preparing for nationwide farmer demonstration that is going to take place in Athens on Wednesday and are planning to symbolically block off roads.

Meanwhile the farmers in Serres appear to be split, with some going to support their colleagues at the road block in Drama, while others have withdrawn their tractors in order to discuss the future of their actions.

The farmers in Viotia have planned to block off the road at the junctions of Kastro and Anthili on the Antihili-Lamia national high way at about 2.30.
