The National Council for Radio and Television (ESR) and the Ministry of Infrastructure have criticized the government spokesman Simos Kedikoglou for being responsible for the delays noted in the digital changeover.

As it turns out, Mr. Kedikoglou has not taken the necessary legislative initiatives in order for ESR to carry out a bidding process for the licensing of terrestrial digital broadcasting content provides, which must be complete by the 30th of June 2014.

This is necessary for Greece to complete the changeover by the 1st of October 2014 in accordance with EU legislation. Greece has already received a deadline extension from the EU, due to delays from previous years.
