The Minister of Shipping Miltiadis Varvitsiotis met with his South Korean counterpart Yoon Sang-jick, with whom he discussed the possibility of Greek shipping companies and South Korean shipyards cooperating.

At the meeting, the Greek and South Korean Ministers had the opportunity to exchange ideas on further expanding the business ties between the two countries, including the possibility of South Korean banks funding Greek shipping activities and projects, such as the construction of new ships.

In his statement regarding the agreement between South Korean shipyards and Greek ship supply companies Mr. Sang-jick explained that he has trust Greek expertise in shipping matters and revealed his intentions to expand the level of cooperation.

The South Korean Minister also reported that he will prepare a South Korean shipyard envoy for the upcoming “Posidinia” International Fair in June.
