The police reported the arrest of an armed thief, who had barricaded himself in a vacant house in Egaleo, after having broken into a store in Peristeri on Friday morning.
According to the police report the man had broken into a store in Peristeri at about 4am on Friday morning, but was noticed by neighbors who immediately contacted the police. The thief ran off as soon as he saw the police vehicles and found refuge in a vacant apartment in Egaleo, where he barricaded himself.
The police called out the counter-terrorism police unit EKAM to intervene, which eventually managed to apprehend the thief, who was armed with a Tokarev pistol.
