The trial of the 50-year-old elementary school teacher based in Arta who is accused of making his students slap an 8-year-old classmate of theirs, has been postponed to the 27th of February. Many of the 50-yea-old teacher’s colleagues were present at the court hearing to offer support and carried out a three-hour walk out.

The school’s principle reported that the 50-year-old teacher, who suffers from mobility problems, denies ever giving the instruction and claims that he instructed two students to stand guard at the door so that the 8-year-old would not leave the class before recess was called.

According to the mother of the 8-year-old, the teacher held the victim and instructed the other classmates to slap him, while two other students were told to guard the door and prevent him from leaving. The father has also claimed that the other students also punched his son during the alleged assault.
