The Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Angel Gurria will visit Greece today in order to present an OECD study on competition in the Greek economy.

Mr. Gurria is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, as well as the Ministers of Finances and Growth Yannis Stournaras and Kostis Hatzidakis respectively, in order to discuss ways to encourage entrepreneurship and investments in Greece. Mr. Gurria will meet Mr. Samaras at 9.30, followed by a visit at the Ministry of Finances at 11.45.

At about 12.30 Mr. Gurria will meet with Mr. Hatzidakis, with a press conference scheduled for at 1pm, where the two men will discuss the OECD study on competition policies and obstacles preventing investments in Greece. The OECD study will be presented at 3.15pm at the Bank of Greece.

At 7pm this evening Mr. Gurria will be the central speaker at an event of the Konstantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy on future reforms and building a stronger and fairer Greek economy. The Minister of Growth Hatzidakis will give a welcoming speech.

Samaras meetings

Aside from the OECD Secretary-General, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with Microsoft’s President of Central and Eastern European operations Don Grantham and the managing director of Microsoft Hellas Panagiota Antonakou, as well as the European Commissioner of Internal Markets and Services Michel Barnier.
