The crisis in higher education appears to be coming to an end, with the Senate of the University of Athens convening today and reported that it is pleased with the Ministry of Education’s 5-step plan. The administrative employees are holding an emergency meeting to discuss the proposal.

The Senate announced that its main position is for the universities to reopen and full operation to be restored. As part of the dialog with the Ministry, the Senate has requested that administrative employees return to their positions so that the University can fully operate.

Furthermore, the Senate has requested that the Ministry of Education takes back its suspensions of administrative employees who did not submit their details, reassess staff, establishes positions for administrative employees who have been suspended and covers the cost of recruiting dismissed staff members.
