The Police announced that it arrested a 51-year-old Army officer on Thursday in Magnesia for illegal possession of weapons. The army officer will plead his case before a military prosecutor.

During investigation at the suspect’s house, the police recovered a CZ 9mm pistol, a BAYARD 7.65 pistol, a flare gun, two hunting rifles with expired licenses, a tazer gun, a collapsible metal police baton, three bayonets, a hunting knife and multiple rounds of ammunition.

Aside from the weapons, the police recovered a laptop computer, two mobile phones and ten books with Nazi content. The police also reported that it found a huge number of items emblazoned with the Golden Dawn and junta symbols, such as posters, lighters and hats.

The weapons recovered have been sent to the Criminal Investigation Subdirectory of Northern Greece for a ballistics inspection, in order to help determine the origin and whether they have been used in any crimes.
