An administrative employee at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki who is facing the possibility of suspension attempted to commit suicide today.
According to witnesses, the desperate mother of two was discussing her problems in the office of Rector Mylopoulos and attempted to jump from the seventh floor balcony, before colleagues intervened.
The deputy Rector of the university Ioannis Pantis explained that turmoil and emotional distress can lead to suicide and other self-destructive behaviors and pleaded for the suspension of the suspension measure.
