The leader of the Opposition Alexis Tsipras, who recently commented that the government’s MPs should not be pressured into voting for bills they do not agree with, responded to Evangelos Venizelos’ accusations of “institutional and political worthlessness”.

Mr. Tsipras noted that “Mr. Venizelos will not hesitate to accuse any of his party MPs of apostasy when they cannot stand being Mr. Samaras’ crutches and vote increasingly extreme and anti-people measures”.

The SYRIZA leader then explained that “we treat Mr. Venizelos comments like all the other people: like wisecracks intended to conceal great anguish and embarrassment”.

Additionally, SYRIZA MP Dimitris Tsoukalas, who was invited on SKAI TV’s morning chat show, commented that “PASOK became New Democracy’s tail and has ‘apostatized’ from its birthday visions”.
