The Greek national football team will face Romania tonight at 21:45 at the “Karaiskakis” stadium in Piraeus, for the second round of UEFA qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The second game will take place in Bucharest on Tuesday.

Coach Fernando Santos, who expects the stands to be packed with fans, will not take any unnecessary risks and the starting eleven will likely by comprised of Karnezis under the goalposts with Torosidis, Papastathopoulos, Siovas and Holebas as the defensive line, Katsouranis, Maniatis and Tziolis in the midfield line and Samaras, Salpingidis and Mitroglou in the offense. There is a chance that Giorgos Karagounis will start instead of Tziolis.

The Romanian coach Victor Piturca will shuffle the deck and will likely appoint Tatarusanu as the starting goalie, despite a recent injury. In defense Matel, Rat, Goian and Gardos are the likeliest candidates, while Burceanu, Lazar, Nikolita, Maxim and Tanase will form the midfield line behind striker Marica.
