According to the announcement by the Deputy Minister of Finances Christos Staikouras, public revenue in October was 24% above the allocated goal.

The Deputy Minister of Finances revealed that up to October, the overall revenue goals for 2013 have been exceeded. The Ministry of Finances will use these improved divs in its arguments to negotiate better terms with the troika.

Mr. Staikouras noted that “revenue before tax returns was found to be 4.8 billion euros, increased by 750 million euros or 24% of the annual goal” while adding that October was the fourth consecutive month of exceeding the allocated goal.

The Deputy Minister noted that thanks to “the truly painful contribution of households and businesses, the country is approaching its fiscal goals”.
