An explosive device went off at around 5am on Thursday morning at the tax offices of Kifisia. The powerful explosion and shock-wave was felt throughout the neighborhood and caused serious damages to the building.
Prior to the explosion, at around 4:20am, warning phone calls were made to the Police, the zougla.gr website and the Efimerida ton Syntakton newspaper. The recorded messages stated that the bomb would go off in 30 minues.
Police officers cordoned off the area, while its bomb squad unit gathered evidence from the explosion. It appears that the bomb was hidden in a travel bag outside the building.
