Even though the support for the strike is waning, the local unions of secondary school teachers (ELME) have decided to extend their strike for a second week.

The majority of ELME unions voted in favor of continuing their strike, there were a number of unions that opposed the strike. Some unionists estimated that the participation in the strike fell to about 30% yesterday. In any case, the unions will make their final decisions on Friday.

Last night a concert in support of public education was held at the Technical University of Athens, at an event organized by university professors, administrative staff and students with the support and participation of OLME and ERT employees. Thousands attended the event, which was also a tribute to Pavlos Fyssas.
