A group of 35 to 40 PAOK fans, according to eyewitnesses, attacked Golden Dawn’s offices in Thessaloniki yesterday, after the political party issued a number of inflammatory statements against the sports club.

The Police arrested 46 people in connection to the violent events and are to be taken today to the prosecutor of the Misdemeanors Court of Thessaloniki, where they will face charges of breaching the peace. PAOK fan club “Gate 4” has called for a rally outside the courts.

Police officers suspect that the attack escalated from Golden Dawn’s scathing criticism of PAOK fans, in the aftermath of PAOK FC’s player Ergys Kace wearing a UÇK t-shirt in photograph uploaded on his facebook account.
