The government is looking into privatizing the 76 acres of the beach in Vouliagmeni, one of the oldest organized beaches in Attica. Currently the beach is being managed by state real estate company ETAD.

To that end the government is planning a competition in October, along with the privatization of a package of five plots of land. The government is hoping to generate significant interest from investor groups, in light of the developments with the privatization of the Astir hotel.

Binding offers for the purchase of the luxurious Astir hotel in Vouliagmeni will be accepted until the 21st of October and so far 13 investment groups from Greece and abroad have shown an interest. The hotel is currently owned by the National Bank.
