Over 100,000 taxpayers to be audited
The General Secretary of Public Revenue Haris Theoharis announced on SKAI TV that about 100,000 taxpayers with tax returns will be contacted electronically in order to be audited.
The General Secretary explained that about 300,000 tax returns will inspected on Sunday, with another clear up to take place at the end of the month. Mr. Theoharis urged taxpayers against procrastinating, as the deadline for the first installment due is the 30th of August.
Mr. Theoharis also clarified that taxpayers who submitted their tax forms in July will have three installments, while those who submitted in August will only have two installments.
The system will continue operating after the 30th of August, however any submitted returns will be considered overdue.
