The board of teacher union OLME visited the Minister of Education Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos in order to discuss a number of critical matters.

The OLME leaders requested the meeting in order to discuss the controversial suspension scheme and other practical issues pertaining to the scheduling of the new school year.

Despite the hopes of finding a compromising solution, the meeting appears to have been fruitless, as the union leaders insist on calling a strike on the first day of the new school year. The government on the other hand has responded that the schools will operate as normal.
