The Financial and Economic Crime Unit (SDOE) is keeping up with its pace of inspections during the tourist season. The results over the weekend have been encouraging, with SDOE inspectors ordering the 48-hour closure of four businesses.
Specifically, the inspectors ordered the temporary closure of a nightclub near Agrinio where a well-known artist was scheduled to perform, another nightclub near Arta, a bar in Rhodes and a snack bar in Chania.
In one of the reported cases, two different SDOE investigation teams visited the same business on the same night, catching the owners by surprise, as the second investigation was not expected.
Aside from the temporary closure of the businesses for 48 hours, the relevant administrative fines, taxes and reports have been submitted.
