The Ministry of Finances will host an important meeting on Wednesday regarding the future of defense industry companies LARKO, EAS and ELVO, which currently employ about 2,250 people.

The troika representatives have been pressuring the government in taking drastic measures, which could lead to dismissals and closures. According to the bail out deal, the Greek government has to announce its reform plan for the three companies by the end of August.

The likeliest downsize scenario involves a series of dismissals and sale of individual assets. The relevant ministers, TAIPED representatives, legal consultants and management of LARKO, EAS and ELVO will discuss all downsizing and privatization options on Wednesday.
