The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras departed last night for Washington D.C. and the White House, where he is scheduled to meet with USA President Barrack Obama on Thursday, August 8th .

On Wednesday Mr. Samaras will be in New York, where he is scheduled to see representatives of important Greek American investment groups. On Thursday the Greek premier will meet the Secretary of Foreign Affairs John Kerry, at noon, before his meeting with President Obama.

Mr. Samaras will the return to New York, for a series of talks with the city’s mayor Michael Bloomberg, the UN’s General Secretary Ban Ki-moon, representatives of the Greek diaspora, as well as the head of the Jewish American Council, David Harris. The Prime Minister will also pay tribute to Ground Zero and visit the construction site of the Greek Orthodox St. Nicolas church.
