Golden Dawn demonstrated its fascist ideals and disrespect towards the Greek people’s struggle by holding a hate-fueled rally outside its offices at Attiki square, under the pretext of a food charity event “for Greeks only”, on the 39th anniversary of the restoration of democracy in Greece.

Golden Dawn did not bother applying for a permit to hold the food distribution on the square, as originally planned, so the hate-fueled charitable event was held in the fascist party’s offices.

The party leader Michaloliakos launched a tirade of insults from his balcony against the Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, the Minister of Public Order Nikos Dendias and the Mayor of Athens Giorgos Kaminis. The fascist leader was cheered on by the crowd of Golden Dawn supporters, who claimed that he was banned from distributing food to Greeks, but not immigrants.

PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos dubbed Golden Dawn as “the most provocative Nazi party in Europe” and explained that legislation against Nazi and anti-democratic parties only have value if it is implemented. DIMAR condemned Golden Dawn for cultivating racism and intolerance, while commending the Mayor for standing up and banning the event
