Municipal employee union POE-OA has decided to participate in the panattic walkout organized by ADEDY for today at noon. The union is reacting to the government’s plans of suspension and mobilization which affects thousands of municipal employees.
Education unionists from OLME and employees in the State arms industries EAS, EAV and ELVO, who feel they will be next in line for suspensions, will also attend the rally at Klafthmonos Square at 12:30.
The municipal employee union has announced that the walkout will continue on Friday (from 11:30am onwards), followed by a protest and march to Parliament. On Saturday municipal employees will abstain from their duties. POE-OTA has vowed to continue with its strike action next week.
For Monday POE-OTA has organized a rally and all-night sit-in protest outside Parliament on Syntagma square. This will precede the general strike announced by ADEDY and GSEE for Tuesday.
