DIMAR to support “European path”
DIMAR leader Fotis Kouvelis was scheduled to meet with the European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion László Andor today and commented that his party “which is not participating in the new government, will continue to support the country’s European path, as well as the need to continue with reforms, so that Greece overcomes this crisis”.
Mr. Kouvelis told the European Commissioner that if Europe were to abandon the policies of austerity and recession, it would soon be on the path of growth. Mr. Andor focused on tackling the unemployment problem, particularly youth unemployment. This could be achieved by efficiently using funds and promoting reforms in the public sector.
Both Mr. Kouvelis and Mr. Andor agreed that it is necessary for the social partners to come to an agreement for opening serious discussions.
