The controversial civil mobilization of teachers, which the government enforced in order to ensure that the Panhellenic exams would run smoothly, is to be lifted next week.

During the announcement of the exam results earlier in the day, the Minister of Education Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos explained that “we tried and ensured the smooth and uninterrupted exams and that is why we resorted to such a tough, but necessary, measure like the mobilization, which will obviously be lifted next week because after the end of the exams there is no reason to maintain it”.

Mr. Arvanitopoulos also extended his best wishes to the candidates of this year’s Panhellenic exams.
