Ministry unveils “last chance” scheme for outstanding debts
The Ministry of Finances is giving one last opportunity to about 2,500,000 debtors to settle their debts with the State in up to 100 installments. According to the General Secretary of Public Revenue Haris Theoharis, the scheme is flexible to suit the needs of debtors.
As of the 20th of June applications can be submitted at tax offices or online. After the 18th of July, applications will only be accepted electronically. The Ministry has sent tax services its regulations regarding this “last chance” settlement.
The settlement concerns outstanding debts up to the 31st of December 2012 and allows the debtor to pay off in up to 100 monthly installments, of a 15 euro minimum value. The annual interest rate for this scheme is 8.5%.
