The leader of the Opposition Alexis Tsipras addressed the Prime Minister in Parliament, over the “admission of error” from the IMF and demanded that he inform Parliament on a number of recent developments.
Mr. Tsipras specifically requested that the PM informs Parliament “if he insists that the current program had a positive impact on the economy, society and debt viability” and if he “estimates that the continued support of this program will make the debt viable and prevent the continued decline of the Greek economy”.
The opposition leader also asked for Mr. Samaras to inform Parliament “how he plans to take advantage of this admission, based on the fact that Greece is going through a humanitarian crisis and how does he plan to demand the relief of the Greek debt from the funds used in the recapitalization of banks, the exemption of public investments from the calculation of the primary deficit and the growth clause, at the upcoming summit”.
