The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras meτ the Prime Minister of Luxemburg and former head of Eurogroup Jean Claude Juncker at Maximou Hall.
After the meeting, Prime Minister Samaras explained that he “will now allow the country to return to the darkness”, that nobody speaks of the Grexit’ anymore and the need for more support. The Prime Minister of Luxembourg stated that Greece has made remarkable progress over the past year and emphasized the efforts for combating youth unemployment.
Mr. Juncker will also meet with the President of Democracy Karolos Papoulias and the President of Parliament Evangelos Meimarakis. In the afternoon Mr. Juncker is scheduled to be honored by the Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Athens (EVEA).
Last night Mr. Juncker was invited to the Music Hall, where he expressed his admiration for Greece and frustration with the arrogance of Northern Europeans towards the south.
The former head of Eurogroup stated that he has defended Greece and added that “it might not be correct to say that Greece belongs to Europe, perhaps it is more correct to say that Europe belongs to Greece”.
