Prominent Greek musician Dionysis Savvopoulos will be presenting his new record entitled “Paraxena kai atofia” (Bizarre and pure) in the garden of the Athens Music Hall. The event is scheduled to begin at 21:00.
The record, which compiles 27 songs from his five decade-spanning career, is a “soundtrack” of the lives of the thousands of Greeks who are on a quest for direction and vision, in an era of doubt, suspense and searching. In his latest outing, Savvopoulos showcases his eclectic mix of ethnic,
Balkan and rock sounds, which are layered upon the emotion, conflicts,
aspirations and vision of contemporary Greek culture.
The title was lifted from the lyrics of «Mavri thalassa» (Black sea), from his 1972 record «Vromiko psomi» (Dirty bread). Savvopoulos will be accompanied by Orestis Plakidis (keyboards & programming), Yotis Kioutsoglou (Bass) and Vangelis Karipis (percussion and brass).
