The trial of former Minister of National Defense Akis Tsohatzopoulos resumes after the weekend break today with testimony of SDOE executive Nikos Maitos, which continues for the third day.

During questioning by the defense, the court president Katsianis pointed out to him that SDOE did not insist on identifying the real owners of the American firm Nobilis, which is involved in the shady dealings of the former Minister. Mr. Katsianis noted that there many blank spots and grey areas in SDOE’s report.

Mr. Tsohatzopoulos defense attorney Leonidas Kotsalis claimed that a number of reports by accountants and technical experts will submit “devastating conclusions” that will dispel all accusations, regarding a number of money transfers.

New evidence was presented in court today, about money transfer of two million euros that are considered bribes from the purchase of submarines. Mr. Tsohatzopoulos’ other attorney Giannis Pagoropoulos insisted on summoning the former members of KYSEA who approved the purchase of said submarines.

Mr. Tsohatzopoulos’ wife Vicky Stamati and daughter Areti Tsohatzopoulou, also accused of participating in the corruption scandal, were both present.
