It has been about eighteen months since the Supreme Council for Personnel Selection (ASEP) published its final results and the suspended private law civil servants awaiting placement are still up in the air. The Ministry of Administrative Reform plans to intervene by issuing a decree to finalize their transfer to new positions in the public sector.

The Ministry announced on Thursday that the relevant decree will be issue “in order for employees awaiting transfer to be available for work in their new positions in the immediate future”. The Ministry explained that there a number of small technical details must be dealt with before the transfers take place.

ASEP published the transfer lists on its website on the 29th of April, and then relayed them to the Minister of Administrative Reform Antonis Manitakis to issue the relevant transfer orders. However it has been over 15 days since then and the transfers have not yet been ratified in Government Gazette. Mr. Manitakis’ staff however maintains that the issue will be dealt with soon.
