Alekos Alavanos was invited to a morning chat show on NET, where he rejected the possibility of forming any sort of alliance with his former party SYRIZA. Mr. Alavanos explained that “SYRIZA’s politics have collapsed” and that “it reminds me to an extent of DIMAR”, in reference to SYRIZA’s plan of denouncing the bailout while remaining within the Eurozone.

Mr. Alavanos referred to the possibility of an alliance with the communist parties KKE and ANTARSYA and reiterated his position that a return to a national currency would be most beneficial for Greece. While Mr. Alavanos notes that there is common ground with the two parties, particularly regarding the EU and the Eurozone “KKE has turned in on itself and does not pose the currency issue anymore”. Ultimately, “the matter of alliances has ended and I consider it very negative”.
