The case file against Golden Dawn MP Giorgos Germenis for his assault against the Mayor of Athens Giorgos Kaminis has been complete. The case file contains police data regarding the charges of attempted bodily harm and slander.
Since Mr. Germenis is an MP, Parliament will have to vote on lifting his parliamentary immunity as provided by the Constitution, in order for him to stand liable. The case file will be forwarded to Parliament from the Athens Prosecution.
Golden Dawn’s food bank in Syntagma “for Greeks only”, for which no permit was sought out caused intense reactions and the intervention of the police. The Mayor noted that “the logic of brutal violence that we saw being expressed twice today […] unfortunately from a member of parliament voted by the people, will not prevail and will not defeat us”.
