A few hours after being turned away at Syntagma Square by the Police for attempting to distribute groceries “for Greeks only”, a team of Golden Dawn members staged an assault against the municipal social grocery store, lead by party MP Giorgos Germenis who struck a 12-year-old girl.

The angry Golden Dawn members and MP were forced to leave Syntagma Square and headed to their offices near Larissis Station to distribute their groceries. Upon arriving they found out that Mayor Kaminis was at the nearby municipal grocery store and “demanded explanations” in an attempt to attract media coverage.

According to eye witnesses Germenis, who was out on the streets armed with his gun, attempted to assault the Mayor, however he was thwarted by a police officer and the Mayor’s security guards. Germenis tried to escape the police to punch the Mayor, but instead he struck a 12-year-old girl who was going to the store.

The police is currently putting together a file with the events that took place in Syntagma and Larissis Station.
