DIMAR MP Maria Repousi claimed that about 4,500 teachers have been transferred to positions which are irrelevant to their skills, despite schools facing serious staff problems.

Mrs. Repousi made the claim on Skai TV, during a discussion about the educator union OLME announcing its intention to protest their increased time-tables and compulsory transfers, during the upcoming exam period.

The DIMAR MP noted that “there were 4,500 transfers of educators to an archbishop, ministers, parties and central agencies” and explained that her party “does not want to increase the timetables of educators, because they do not just work 21 hours a week, they have other duties and work at home”.

Mrs. Repousi also suggested that educators with extra diplomas could be used to cover vacant positions.
