ESEE, the national confederation of commerce announced the results of its study, indicating that this year’s Easter Sunday meal will be about 3.35% cheaper than last year.

The confederation conducted a study of prices in super markets, public and open-air markets, estimating that a five-member family will spend about 98.95 euros on their Easter Sunday meal this year. The same study indicated that in 2012 the family would have spend 102 euros on the same meal.

The price of meat has dropped by 15.62% on average, while the price of fruit and vegetable has remained stable. Lamb was reduced by 8.06%, goat by 8.33%, chicken by 26.3 and pork by 19.8%.

ESEE’s study also included the fasting period, with an average 9.76% decrease in prices. Fresh calamari was 15% cheaper, fresh octopus was 23.81% and frozen shrimp was up to 25% cheaper.
