The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is taking extra care in evaluating and managing the information circulated regarding the fate of the two abducted Archbishops near the Turkish-Syrian border, due to the complex nature of the greater problems faced in the region.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Dimitris Avramopoulos has called a meeting for today, in order to closely study and evaluate the available information, in order to come up with a plan for the next moves. The Ministry’s crisis management mechanism has been activated, collecting and evaluating information from its networks.

Mr. Avramopoulos is in constant communication with his counterparts in the EU, NATO and other regional countries. Mr. Avramopoulos also has regular contact with the Archbishop of Antioch Ioannis, as well as the leader of the Syrian Opposition George Sabra and other important regional divs, in order to better coordinate a rescue for the two Archbishops.
