The former Deputy Minister of Finances Dimitris Kouselas has been accused of being implicated in the non-payment of a 33.7 million euro VAT bill. Financial prosecutors Grigoris Peponis and Spyros Mouzakitis have sent the case file to Supreme Court.

Despite the period of limitations of the alleged crime appears to have lapsed, the deputy prosecutor Nikos Pantelis of the Supreme Court will decide whether to forward the case file to Parliament, in order to investigate the possible criminal liability of the former Minister.

According to the allegations and eye-witness reports in the file, the former Minister intervened so that inspectors in Thessaloniki did not collect the VAT from a specific petroleum transportation company.
