The lifeless bodies of a woman and two children washed up on the beaches of Eressos and Tavari on the island of Mytilene. The police and coast guard have focused their investigation on land, as the since winds raging through the eastern Aegean rule out sea or air searches.

A helicopter is on stand-by, as soon as the winds tone down. Authorities have not come to any conclusions regarding the two victims, since they have not been informed of any smuggling operations in the areas, but consider the possibility of an immigrant-carrying ship capsizing without being reported.
