Employment Organization OAED has submitted its plans for a 5-month employment scheme at municipal services to the Ministry of Labor. The plan is part of the Ministry of Labor’s strategy to deal with unemployment.
According to the plan, five-month “general duties” jobs are created at municipalities for the unemployed. Those above the age of 25 will be paid 490 euros per month, while those under 25 will be paid 427 euros and their insurance contributions. Those who apply for the scheme will have the opportunity to work in
Public projects, such as maintaining parks and other areas of green, reforestations, protection of forests and other areas of natural beauty, cleaning beaches and riversides and protecting the environment.
- Healthcare services for the elderly, disabled and underage
- Social actions, such as social grocery stores, the collection and distribution of used clothing, homeless shelters and social medial practices.
- Student road safety, school cafeterias etc.
The scheme is only available to unemployed who have registered with OAED and will be chosen based on a point-system and social criteria.
