Bulldozers have arrived at the “Tobruk” beach of Heraklion in order to demolish a number of illegal buildings, causing tension and strong reactions from local residents.
The owners of a restaurant and unfinished building, while admitting the illegality of their buildings, accuse authorities for “selective demolitions”, since three hotels that appear guilty of the same urban planning violations have not been scheduled for demolition.
Despite the tension, the bulldozers began knocking down the buildings.
