At noon today representatives of ship-owners will meet with members of the Maritime Worker’s Union (PNO) executive committee, in order to discuss new collective labor agreements.
At the last meeting, the Passenger Shipping Association (SEEN) requested that maritime workers’ wages be reduced by 10% and that the special benefits for remote destinations and express routes be reexamined.
The representatives of 14 maritime worker unions demanded an increase of wages, as well as the immediate payment of outstanding wages, still owed by certain shipping firms.
