The Government Council for Foreign Affairs and National Defense (KYSEA) has convened under Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and decided to change the leadership of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
The Minister of National Defense Panos Panagiotopoulos announced that:
- Lieutenant General Athanasios Tselios, former commander of the 4th Corps will be the new Army leader.
- Vice Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, former Deputy Chief of Defense will be the new Navy leader.
- Lieutenant General Evangelos Tournas, former Tactical Aviation leader will be the new Air Force leader.
Mr. Panagiotopoulos thanked the outgoing leaderships of the Armed Forces for their contribution to the country.
