Opposition party SYRIZA commented on the Sunday meeting between Minister of Finances and troika representatives, stating that “they are unreliable and dangerous and the sooner they leave, the better for society and the economy”,adding that “the topic of the talks confirms that gradually harsher politics of the memorandum that the Samaras government intends to realize”.

They also stress that “despite the government searching for ways to manage the failure of the memorandum one way, by suggesting that they are allegedly negotiating various issues, they are prepared to sell off healthy organizations such as OPAP and strategic infrastructures, such as water”. SYRIZA also accuses the government of “preparing layoffs in the public sector and new wage and pension cuts, following the deficit generated from not dealing with tax evasion, especially in the cases detailed in the various lists”.

The opposition party supports “the democratic overthrow of the government, in order to pave a new way for a socially-just exit from the crisis, based on supporting public goods and the social state to rebuild the economy, full employment and growth”.
