Newly-elected Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiadis is expected to visit Athens early next week. During his visit, Mr. Anastasiadis will meet a number of Greek politicians, including Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.
According to the “Fileleftheros” newspaper, the main points on the discussion agenda will be the financial crisis, the Cypriot matter, the search for hydrocarbons in the Cypriot EEZ and Turkey’s reactions. The two are also expected to discuss Cyprus’ application to be inducted in the NATO “Partnership for Peace” program.
The Cypriot President will likely be accompanied by Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulidis, for a series of talks with his Greek counterpart Dimitris Avramopoulos.
