The final tractors have left the Nikea junction, where hundreds of farmers had set up a road block fir about a month. The departing farmers stated that they are not giving up their struggle and will be present at the farmer demonstration in Athens on the 5th of March.

The farmer roadblocks dotted across the national highways were frequently visited by party leaders and government officials, in an effort to negotiate controversial issues, such as a special farmer rate for diesel and subsidies. Despite sharing many demands, the movement splintered into two factions, the Nationwide Coordination Body representing 22 roadblocks and the Federation of Agricultural Union representing 28 roadblocks.
